You Can Be a Missionary From Home!

Timing is very important. Jesus was the greatest missionary of all time. He crossed the ocean of the universe, leaving the grandest culture of heaven, to bring light to the darkest hour of mankind. Theoretically, Jesus could have come at any time after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden to pay the price for our salvation, but according to (Galatians 4:4) he did it in the ‘fullness of time’.

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law. (Galatians 4:4, NASB)

Do you have a mission call burning in your soul, but it is not yet the ‘fullness of time’ for you to go to a distant land. There are two ways you can go with out ever leaving your home.

PRAYER: Through the highway of prayer, you can travel the globe. If either the timing or your situation is not yet ‘in the fullness of time’ for you to actually go, you can go through prayer. Many talk of prayer – but few really pray. Moses, as he held up the ‘rod of intercession’

(Exodus 17:8-13) brought about the victory in the valley. The battle was won on the mountain top through intercession, not in the valley where the soldiers were.

(8) Then Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
(9) Moses said to Joshua, "Choose men for us, and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with God's rod in my hand."
(10) So Joshua did as Moses had told him, and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
(11) It happened, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
(12) But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side. His hands were steady until sunset.
(13) Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. (Exodus 17:8-13, WEB)

Missions will never be successful unless the victory is first won through prayer. God is looking for intercessors. Intercession is the full-time ministry of Jesus today (Hebrews 7:25).

Therefore, because he always lives to intercede for them, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him. (Hebrews 7:25, ISV)

Matter of fact God is amazed (Isaiah 59:16) that there are not more people serving in this ministry of intercession which Jesus now currently ministers in. God is looking for those who will take the ministry of intercession seriously, so that nations will not need to be destroyed (Ezekiel 22:30)

And He saw that there was no man, and He was astonished that there was no intercessor. And His own arm saved for Him; and His righteousness sustained Him. (Isaiah 59:16, LITV)

And I sought for a man among them, that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap [intercede] before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none. (Ezekiel 22:30, ASV)

Is God calling you to this ministry? The Bible is full scriptures that show we are at war, and that we are soldiers in this war. No soldier goes to a foreign battlefield at his own expense. He is sent and equipped by others. From your own home you can go to the battle field as you support missions in a Godly manner – giving sacrificially as unto the Lord. You may not be able to go yourself at this time, but you can give to send others in the same way you would want others to give if it were you going. You can help others go and/or help them stay, or equip them to do the job properly. No Spirit led giving is ever too small or too large. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
