Long-Term/Career Missionaries
DO YOU HAVE A PASSIONATE DESIRE TO BE USED OF GOD TO CHANGE OUR WORLD?
Mission Of Compassion strongly believes that the Lord’s principal means of transforming the world is the church. There is a place in God’s end time purposes for you to find your destiny in fulfilling the Great Commission. Mission Of Compassion would count it a great privilege to dialogue and pray with you to see if we can co-operate together in this end time mission.
- Mission Of Compassion is committed to reach out to the existing churches and help strengthen them through sound teaching of the Word of God to equip them so they can fulfill their destiny in the Great Commission.
- As the Lord leads us, when we find an area where there is no living church, we are committed to plant new churches.
- God has an end time strategy to save the world – it is called the church. Part of that strategy will include specific plans, but our focus must always be building the church. We must not focus on the strategy but the church – for He is the church.
IS GOD NUDGING YOU IN THIS DIRECTION?
– The Lord is calling full time career missionaries to build His church around the world. Time is running out. The greatest days of harvest are upon us. WHAT IS YOUR PART? HOW CAN WE HELP?
THE LONG TERM CAREER MISSIONARY
This begins as the Lord Himself calls and takes hold of the person. (Philippians 3:12) . The missionary hears in his spirit man the voice of God calling as did Isaiah of old (Isaiah 6:8-9) , and he respond, "Here am I; send me"; to which God directs, " Go, and tell this people…"
Or the call comes like a Macedonia Vision, (Acts 16:9-10) , that we respond to.
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect, but I am pressing on, if I may lay hold of that for which I also was taken hold of by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:12, MKJV)
And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I; send me! And He said, Go, and tell this people, … (Isaiah 6:8-9, MKJV)
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A certain man of Macedonia stood, begging him, saying, Come over into Macedonia and help us! And after he saw the vision, we immediately tried to go into Macedonia, gathering that the Lord had called us in order to preach the gospel to them. (Acts 16:9-10, MKJV)
JESUS CHRIST THE PROTOTYPE OF TODAY’S MISSIONARY
Christ "became human and lived among us" (John 1:14). He became the first missionary, leaving his own heavenly country, and came and lived in a foreign field, preaching and teaching the way of salvation. As believers who have encountered the loving God, we are eager to imitate Christ by becoming missionaries and living among those who do not yet know Him and showing them the way to eternal life.
WHICH CAME FIRST -- THE CHURCH OR MISSIONS?
The heart beat and authorization of ‘missions’ for 2000 years has been the "Great Commission" as given to us by the Lord just before He ascended, in( Matthew 28:18-20). But many times during this two millennium period of time--from the birth of the church to this present time, there seems to have been a dichotomy between the church, missions and evangelism.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20, NASB)
There are churches that have very little, if any involvement in foreign missions or evangelism. And at the other end of the spectrum there are mission and evangelistic organizations that seem to run independently of any local church. This is not God’s best.
Mission Of Compassion believes that Jesus Christ is the head of the church, his body—and that the only ‘works’ in missions and evangelism that will endure, must be connected to and built through the local church.
Every church should be strong in missions and evangelism, and all missions and evangelism efforts should be building that is connected directly to the Church.
All of our mission and evangelism efforts should be involve in building up the existing churches and planting new churches. And all churches should be involved in missions and the evangelism of the lost.
Evangelism of the lost is wonderful—but the new believers must be grafted into the body of Christ- the church- so they can grow strong in fellowship with each other and the Lord. That’s why the church must be mission minded, and missions must plant churches.
Jesus said I will build my church, and 2000 years later God is still transforming the world through building the church.
